FOR CHILDREN: FELDENKRAIS® AND JEREMY KRAUSS APPROACH (JKA)®

The Feldenkrais Method® helps children to learn, grow and overcome developmental challenges. The practitioner uses gentle touch, slow movement and attention to activate the ability of the child’s brain to learn. Attention and sensorimotor stimuli help to develop not only movement, but support also the cognitive, emotional and social development.
Children develop their capabilities on the basis of what they can already do. The practitioner helps the children to progressively develop their abilities and involves the child actively to the process of learning. The practitioner does not focus on the difficulties, but rather on what can be improved and developed.
Children learn the most when the learning process is connected with positive emotions. Lessons are held in a positive atmosphere without painful interventions. The relationship between the child and the practitioner is the foundation of the therapeutic process. Each child is approached individually and with full respect to his/her own speed of learning.
Sessions can be beneficial in various conditions such as:
· Cerebral Palsy
· Autistic Spectrum Disorder
· Prematurely born babies
· Psychomotor Development Delay
· Child’s stroke
· Genetic diseases
· Spasticity due to accidents
· Learning difficulties
· And many other including undiagnosed conditions
Improvement can be often seen in:
· Balance, coordination (fine and gross motoric activity), muscular tonus
· Intellectual development
· Self-expression and speech
· Awareness of self and one’s own movement
· Social interactions
· Interest in the environment
· Emotional regulation
· Attention
